|Description of the project:
||St. Nicolas Church was built in the XVII century and was a part of Sviatogorsky Monastery. During the World War II it suffered a lot, and soon after the war was over was demolished. We have enough evidence that it had a special heating system and could be used for services at winter time.
After 1992 Sviatogorsky Monastery was returned to the Orthodox Church and the community of monks was reborn there, which turned the reconstruction of St. Nicolas church into quite a burning issue. The problem is the Assumption Cathedral can't really be used in the winter as only a small part of it has a heating system which is not big enough to hold all the people who want to be present at the service.
If the Church is reconstructed the way it looked in Pushkin time, the whole Monastery will regain its old appearance, which was what Pushkin used to see.
Project documentation development budget is 3 000,000 rubles.
